Middleton Minute #1

Post date: Apr 18, 2017 1:08:42 PM

Welcome to the first edition of the Middleton Minute. As our newsletter editors have increasingly less time due to work demands, the board agreed to try this format. Our goal is for you to be able to read/scan this weekly/bi-weekly update in 60 seconds, thus the name!

Spring has sprung, and so have a few weeds. Our resident lawn care experts tell me it’s not too late to “scalp” your lawn and treat with pre-emergent, but you need to do it now Drop your mower cutting height down to ½ - 1 inch and begin mowing. This is an excellent way to remove old, dead plant material and to expose the soil to sunlight to warm it for quicker lawn green-up.

Graduation Banner – if you haven’t contacted Daryl Mizell to get your graduating senior’s name on this year’s banner, please do so ASAP. You should have received an email from him last Friday with all of the details.

FAQ (frequently asked questions)

When do I need to put out my garbage? Generally everyone puts their trash can / recycle bin by the road Wednesday evening at dusk in order to be collected Thursday morning. Obviously, garbage cans / recycle bins are put back out of view sometime on Thursday after collection. Our covenants state that “All garbage cans [should] be located or screened so as to be concealed from view from neighboring streets and property.”

If you did not contact Grayson City Hall to switch the trash service into your name upon moving to your current address please contact City Hall at 770-963-8017 or email Laura Cone at admin@cityofgrayson.org. The city does not charge you for trash service, however, from time-to-time the city will send out important correspondence.

Have other questions? You can find all kinds of answers in our covenant documents. They can be viewed here: https://sites.google.com/site/middletonhoa/documents

Have a great weekend, everyone!
